Village Connect
At Our Village Nurseries, we believe it takes a village to raise a child and that’s exactly what makes us different. We’re more than just a nursery; we’re a community.
Through our daily work with children and by getting to know families, we also signpost parents to financial, educational, and parenting support services across the boroughs where we are located. Whether it’s help with benefits, guidance on schooling, or advice on family wellbeing, we connect families with both statutory and voluntary organisations so they feel supported beyond the nursery walls.
We also love to celebrate the skills and talents within our parent community. Over the years, parents have come into the nursery to share their expertise with the children, from leading fun Spanish language sessions to teaching about healthy eating and nutrition. These experiences help enrich our curriculum and show children the value of learning from the people around them.
We work closely with local Family Hubs and are proud to be part of Family Hub Networks. This means our parents can easily access free courses, parenting workshops, and extra family support whenever it’s needed.
We also build connections with local organisations. From creative projects with Trinity Art Studios, to fun events with Hope Street Church, cultural workshops with the Museum of London Docklands, and even visits from the London Fire Brigade, we bring the community into our nursery and our nursery into the community.
Every year, together with our families, we also raise money for charities that are close to our hearts, including the Bromley-by-Bow Centre, Richard House Children’s Hospice, ToyHouse Charity, and War Child.
We’re also proud members of the NDNA (National Day Nurseries Association), which campaigns nationally for better funding, training and support for nurseries, helping us give our children and staff the very best.
At Our Village Nurseries, you’re not just joining a nursery; you’re joining a connected village.
✨ If you’re one of our parents and would like to share a skill, passion, or talent with the children, we’d love to hear from you!
